About Us

Eileen Barbieri is internationally known for her highly successful Saluki breeding program, which she began in the early 1970's and continued with under the "Andi" prefix for over 20 years. She was named one of the Top Ten breeders of Champion Salukis for the last decade of the last century -- even though she bred her last litter in December of 1994. That litter in itself produced six champions. She began her transition from Salukis to Pugs in the mid-1980's, and continues to delight in the pure joy that Pugs bring into her life.

.Joy Barbieri, Eileen's daughter, enjoys both handling and breeding. She competed in the Junior Handling ring and  the Conformation ring during her childhood, bringing numerous dogs to their championships in that time. After graduating from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT, with a BA in English, Joy decided to immerse herself in her passion for dogs and dog shows by becoming a professional handler. She handles most breeds, but specializes in Hounds and Toys, particularly Pugs. Joy also co-breeds Havanese with Rebecca Movall, and Robin Molleur of Los Ositos Havanese. Joy has since earned a Master's Degree in Business Adminstation from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts - Amherst.
